Dr. Sharon L. Chambers

Sharon Chambers is a pioneering insurance professional, business leader, and community advocate with more than four decades of experience serving individuals, families, and businesses throughout Indiana. As the owner of a State Farm Insurance Agency since 1984, she has built a distinguished career helping clients protect their financial futures through personalized insurance solutions. Sharon made history as the first African American female State Farm agent in the state of Indiana, launching her agency from the ground up with no existing customer base and growing it into a highly successful operation through dedication, community involvement, and exceptional customer service.

A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a bachelor's degree in business, Sharon has achieved numerous milestones throughout her career. Among her most notable accomplishments is setting a company-wide record in 1997 for writing 157 life insurance applications in a single month—a record that remains unbroken today. Her outstanding performance has earned her membership in prestigious organizations including State Farm's President's Club in Health and the Legion of Honor/Silver Scroll. She has also enjoyed opportunities to travel extensively as a result of her sales achievements and leadership within the industry.

Beyond her professional success, Sharon is deeply committed to serving her community and mentoring future leaders. She currently serves as President of the Gary Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member of the YWCA Executive Board. Passionate about motivating others, she takes pride in developing team members, several of whom have gone on to establish successful agencies of their own. Recently honored with an honorary doctorate in Christian Business Administration, Sharon continues to inspire others through her leadership, faith, and unwavering commitment to helping people achieve security, success, and personal growth.
