Sharon Cusmano
Sharon Cusmano is the Founder and CEO of HOME SUITE HOMES LLC, a San Antonio-based company providing professionally managed mid-term furnished housing for individuals and families in transition. Sharon has been in the real estate and property management field since 1994, when she began working in the office of a construction company that rebuilt homes after fires. Early in her career, she recognized a critical need: homeowners displaced by insurance events often had no option other than hotel stays. This inspired her to envision fully furnished temporary housing solutions, complete with everything from sheets and furniture to kitchen essentials, creating comfort and stability for those in transition.
Licensed in real estate since 2000, Sharon has built extensive experience helping homebuyers, managing properties for other brokers, and working in property catastrophe claims for a third-party company supporting USAA. This diverse background has given her deep insight into insurance processes, property management, and customer-focused solutions. She has also assisted family members in establishing a bed and breakfast in Marion, Alabama, further honing her expertise in hospitality and property operations. Today, Sharon is semi-retired from traditional roles and fully focused on launching Home Suite Homes, offering mid-term rental services to corporate professionals, traveling nurses, and insurance clients, as well as exploring real estate wholesaling to support homeowners facing challenging situations.
Sharon’s passion for real estate and homes is rooted in her childhood as a military kid, moving frequently and developing a fascination with architecture, layouts, and the feeling of home. Her approach has always centered on helping people, building trust, and fostering lasting relationships, rather than pursuing financial gain alone. Known for her dedication, integrity, and hands-on leadership, Sharon combines decades of experience with a genuine desire to support families, professionals, and property owners alike, creating reliable housing solutions and meaningful connections wherever she works.

What do you attribute your success to?
I would have to say the relationships that I built during the process. From my very, very, very first clients, they became friends and ended up sending me referrals. I ended up selling to their kids when their kids grew up. I still keep in touch with all those folks. They've had job transfers, had to move away, and when they need to put their home on the market, they reach back to me. We still keep in touch. It's not about the money, because it's not even as glamorous as people think. It's just about really helping people and building relationships and building that trust.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
When you're tired of your feet hurting, when you're tired of working hard, come see me. I'm gonna show you how to work smart. You want to retire in your 30s, sweetheart, let me show you. I see my future being something that I can pass over to my kids and grandkids because the way the business is structured, it'll be on semi-autopilot. You can do it from anywhere, from the sandy beaches of wherever. This is all about building a legacy for my kids and my grandkids. We're a family of entrepreneurs, that's what my dad instilled in us, and when I did my genealogy research, come to find out they were entrepreneurs too. It's in the blood, it's in the DNA.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
It's not about the money. It's just about really helping people and building relationships and building that trust. I definitely want to provide a service to the community. The other part of my business gives me an opportunity to help people who are about to lose their homes, whether it be helping them save it or helping them get out and find another spot, putting some money in their pocket and getting them going. At my age, I have to be careful how I manage the finances and my legacy. This is all about building a legacy for my kids and my grandkids, something I can pass on to them.
