Her Story
About Sharon
Sharon Green is an accomplished leader with more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit world and community development. She currently serves as Executive Director for a nonprofit organization serving girls in middle school and high school in underserved communities, where she focuses on emotional intelligence, provides safe spaces for emotional navigation and expression, and administers curriculum to school systems in Georgia, with key responsibilities in fundraising. In addition, Sharon founded Bloomtree Inc to offer life coaching and education consulting services, drawing from her experience supporting her own children's education in private and boarding school settings, which evolved into parent coaching with a holistic approach that assesses students and family values to identify thriving educational environments. She serves as a board member of two different nonprofits and as board chair for one. Sharon is also a breast cancer survivor and advocate championing those who are surviving and thriving. Her guidance to young women entering the field emphasizes taking one step at a time, following one's gut with passion and compassion, and keeping one's head up.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take one step at a time and really follow your gut as it relates to the passion and compassion that one should have in the work that they're doing. And just keep your head up.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Fundraising as a new organization and showing credibility in all aspects. Spreading the word.
