A graduate of Texas Tech University, Sharon dedicated 26 years to teaching in the Frenship Independent School District, where she worked extensively with English as a Second Language (ESL) students from around the world. She later served as a curriculum author and instructor for Texas Tech University’s pioneering distance education program, helping design some of the first integrated elementary learning curricula in the U.S. Beyond her formal teaching roles, Sharon also spent several years as an adult education instructor and a missionary in Taiwan, where she deepened her passion for language learning while studying Mandarin at the Taipei Language Institute.
After retiring from traditional classroom teaching, Sharon launched Sharon’s By The Sea, a tutoring service that allows her to continue guiding students in reading, writing, ESL, and interdisciplinary studies. Through her tutoring, she has made a lasting impact on learners of all ages—helping children who once struggled gain confidence and thrive, as well as supporting adults pursuing education and career growth. A published curriculum writer and author, Sharon also brings strong skills in editing, research, and writing, offering unique value to students working on academic projects.
Today, based in Encinitas, California, Sharon continues her work as a memoir writer and private tutor, embodying her belief in lifelong learning.
