Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sharon
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, determination, and endurance, grounded in compassion and integrity. I have learned to work strategically while remaining closely engaged in the trenches alongside staff and families, ensuring that decisions are both informed and people-centered. My focus to personal-centered care for families and residents in longterm care taught me so much. This model continues to serve my clients well in my current business and private practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Coach.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my Marketing Consultant who told me, “Do the right thing.” That statement has not left me. It has encouraged me to persevere, to turn obstacles into opportunities, an experience that shaped my professional development and grounded my leadership in integrity.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be still. Sit with yourself as you are becoming, and resist the urge to make quick decisions. Trust your deepest instincts and blaze your own trail with authenticity and confidence.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the field is the inherently one-on-one nature of clinical massage, which can feel isolating for practitioners. At the same time, this creates a meaningful opportunity to expand professional networking, collaboration, and visibility to foster connection and growth within the industry.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, honesty, grit, and kindness. I am grounded by strong personal faith and regular prayer or meditation, which help keep me centered and aligned in how I lead and live.
