I had to move my body through grief and reinvention (surfing in Costa Rica, dancing salsa, swimming in Greece, Australia, and Fiji) because big life changes are healed through motion, not thought alone.

Her Story

About Sharon

Sharon Jakubecy is a keynote speaker, executive presence trainer, and communication coach whose career has been shaped by a lifelong passion for healing, movement, and performance. As a child, she dreamed of discovering a cure for cancer, driven by a deep desire to help people transform their lives. That purpose eventually led her to meditation, dance, theater, and ultimately the Alexander Technique, where she found a powerful connection between the body, the nervous system, and human potential. Sharon studied modern dance and choreography in college before directing plays and spending years immersed in performance arts, experiences that laid the foundation for her dynamic work helping others command a stage with authenticity and confidence. Today, she combines those disciplines into a unique approach that empowers professionals to communicate with greater clarity, influence, and presence.
For more than two decades, Sharon has coached performers, executives, sales teams, and corporate leaders to move beyond fear, shutdown, and self-doubt so they can communicate with confidence under pressure. Through her signature program, Speak with Impact & Influence, she trains professionals to strengthen executive presence, deliver compelling presentations, and speak with authority in high-stakes environments. As a certified Mic Drop WorkFORCE facilitator and host of the Los Angeles chapter of Mic Drop Club, Sharon has created supportive spaces where women practice using their voices boldly and authentically. Her corporate and wellness training work has included partnerships with organizations such as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Media Arts Lab, Grifols, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, helping teams improve communication, leadership impact, and performance under pressure.
Sharon’s background coaching performers connected to shows including The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Scandal, True Blood, and Dancing with the Stars gives her a distinctive perspective on presence and performance that she now translates into practical tools for business communication and leadership. Her expertise has been featured in NPR, HuffPost, Inc., and Backstage. Whether she is leading a keynote, facilitating a workshop, or mentoring women stepping onto a stage for the first time, Sharon remains driven by the same passion that first inspired her as a young performer: helping people stop shrinking, fully own their voice, and boldly take up space.

Ten minutes with Sharon

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my passion for public speaking, my passion to support other women, and just my love of the stage. I started off as a little kid being in plays, and then I did dance and choreography, modern dance and choreography in college, and then eventually found myself directing plays. Now I'm on stage speaking, helping other women be on stage. It's almost like a love affair with being on stage - that has really driven me. It's my favorite place to be. I'm the opposite of those people who are afraid of public speaking - that is where I want to be. So that's my drive.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say finding a public speaking club, like Mic Drop Club - I'm the host of the LA Chapter and we have clubs all over the U.S. and even one in Toronto. When you join a club, then you're in a safe space where you're not going to be judged, and you get to start practicing. That's really the first piece of advice - start. Find a group of women that you can start with and practice with. Most importantly, if someone hands you a mic, take it. Use your voice. Don't say, 'Oh, no, no, I'm not ready.' You don't ever get ready in your own head and then you're a great speaker. Surrounding yourself with like-minded professional women who cheer you on as you practice public speaking will make you a better communicator at work, in business, and with the people in your life.
