Her Story

About Sharon

I have been in supply chain management for over 24 years, working through multiple different companies before launching my own ventures. When the attacks on DEI happened, my corporate job as a national director of supplier diversity and supply chain management was terminated because my work centered around women, veteran minorities, and LGBTQ businesses. I asked myself, what do I do next? So I decided to turn what I did in corporate America into a small business, doing the same thing but just doing it for myself. Now I'm a fractional Chief Procurement Officer for small businesses, serving as their procurement agent, their strategist, helping them with the ROIs, lead generation, and relationship management. I do supply chain management training and consulting. I launched two companies at the same time - if you go to SharonManker.com, you can see both my companies. The other one is The Professional Chameleon, which has a LinkedIn newsletter and is really focused upon my speaking. I'm also a published author with two books out and another one coming. My U.S. trademark is advocating for change unapologetically, and my social media handle is Unapologetically Sharon. I'm all about what I do for the community - if I get accolades, then that's okay, but I'm not pressed about it.

Ten minutes with Sharon

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

For me, it's all about what I do for the community. I really care about that - if I get accolades, then that's okay, but I'm not pressed about it. My work centers around women, veteran minorities, and LGBTQ businesses, and I'm a community advocate extreme. My children's book is dedicated to my old neighborhood and the 15 women whose names wouldn't have been spoken, including my old crossing guard who used to save me from the bullies. That's more meaningful for me, that's to my heart. I wrote a couple books on self-care just so that I could make sure I take care of myself while taking care of my mom. My U.S. trademark is advocating for change unapologetically.
