Her Story
About Sharon
Sharon Kerrick is a tenured faculty member and academic leader at the University of Louisville, where she has worked for about twenty-four years. With forty-five years in technology, she previously started a company with fellow students to integrate personal computers and networks for major Louisville corporations, which she sold after twenty years around 2000. After earning her PhD in 2008 to run her own programs as tenured faculty, she created an entrepreneurship minor combining technology and business ventures, launched a digital transformation center funded by a ten million dollar National Security Agency grant for cybersecurity training, and continues to teach one class per semester while focusing on integrating micro-credentials from vendors like IBM, Microsoft, and Google into various curricula. She is a member of Women in Technology, ROCKET, SHRM, and ATD, and regularly publishes in journals such as Small Business Strategy Journal and speaks at international conferences.
