Her Story
About Sharon
I've been a life coach since 2017, and my journey really started when I was a teenager, wondering where my potential was. I've always been focused on everybody's potential ever since then. During my career, I was often helping friends revise their resumes because others can see our challenges better than we can since they're more objective. What I do mostly is share my wisdom through art blocks - I've made 400 or 500 of these colorful art blocks that I've garnered from reading self-help books. I like to make notes of what wisdom others have and put them into what I call 'fabric art for small spaces.' Your brain processes wisdom in a different way when it's associated with beauty and color. I've made 50 podcasts and continue to be a podcast guest on other people's platforms, planting seeds of wisdom in other people's lives. My business is called Effortless Vitality, and my business card says 'discover and ignite your inner spark.' When you're flowing from something that is effortless, like your potential, everything becomes therapeutic and aligns with your fulfillment, contentment, and satisfaction of life. I like to bring out the best in people. I believe that the best of us is in our soul, and I help people define their soul, because when you're living from your soul, you have contentment, fulfillment, and meaning in your life.

Ten minutes with Sharon
01What do you attribute your success to?
From a very young age I lived on a farm, milked cows and stacked hay. There I wanted to be invisible to be safe from the sexual abuse happening in our home. My plan was to get good grades, be obedient, and don't rock the boat and it worked pretty well.
I loved learning and even skipped second grade. I went one year to college on a very small scholarship and worked after class, then attend college classes on nights and weekends. I read lots of self-help books by Dyer, Peale, Hill, Schuler, Covey, Lipton, Senge, etc. Books don't hurt and satisfied my curiosity.
Dale Carnegie classes and Toastmasters helped me build confidence.
GTE transferred me to Tampa FL where I became despondent and found courage to refuse to live my life based on fear. Later my faith was tested through a dry wilderness season of closed heavens. After leaving GTE, I worked for IBM, USP and, Boeing.
For most of my life I felt invisible and when retired, I wondered how I'd know if I was productive. That's when I learned in coaching classes to define my authentic true self used my deep inner wisdom to begin living aligned with my core and what matters to me. It felt like I'd defined my soul!
About this same time a new profile described me as an Influencer. What a shock: I was sure it was a mistake! In time, I used courage to take baby steps, testing if it was right. So when an opportunity to be a podcast guest came along, I accepted it and went on to create over 50+ of my own and eventually begam the Queen of Courage on Instagram. I've become an author and thought leader on social media empowering retirees to be their best, thrive and live their dreams, volunteer and have no regrets but to finish the contributions they have yet to complete.
