She attributes her success to consistent hard work, noting that she returned to complete her education after having her daughter at a young age and gained valuable experience working for the federal government. Looking ahead, she aims to return to emergency management through project-based work while approaching retirement, guided by values centered on family and helping others.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sharon

01What do you attribute your success to?

It's hard work. Just hard work. I did it after having my daughter young and came back and did my education, and worked for the federal government.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

If it's something you want, you go for it, you study for it, and work hard to get it. Train and be open to learn different things in your organization so that way you can move up.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family and helping others. My family is first because I have a grandson, and helping others.
