What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When asked about the people who have really inspired Sharron throughout her life she highlighted that her faith and following Jesus have led her where she is today, she has counted on herself and motivated herself and pushed forward persevering through challenging times and truly found her own way appeared she's extremely proud of being able to say that she is fulfilled in her career and providing a strong foundation to her family.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give young women centers on identity, discipline, purpose, and accountability. I would encourage them to first develop a strong sense of who they are, rather than allowing external influences, because often we do that. I didn't know who I was until I was 27, and then I was just finding myself at that point, and so I've only known who I have been for the last few years, and that is just scary. I'd also emphasize the importance of discipline and understanding that growth and success are built through consistent action, and not just motivation. That discipline piece is very hard. I've made a lot of sacrifices to get to where I am. I'd also guide them to recognize that purpose is not something that they wait to find, but it's something that they actively walk through in their daily choices and in their character and in their leadership. And then ultimately, I would equip them with clarity and confidence and just the accountability that they need to make intentional decisions and lead their lives with direction.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Sharon will be jumping into add more detail regarding what has kept her inspired and motivated her throughout her career and the changes that she's made toward moving into coaching other people within her community and helping guide them through the changes in their lives, she would also like to add more detail regarding her accomplishments and accolades and anything that she would like to share that pertains to her career or personal joys. She will highlight things that bring her happiness in life including her interests and hobbies and spending time with her family, as well as any detail about how she would like to connect with other incredible women in our community and how she would like to inspire our readers.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are, first and foremost, faith. Everything I do revolves around Jesus at the core. Discipline is number two, and accountability. A lot of people don't practice accountability, and accountability is very hard. And then emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is so much bigger than can I control my emotions - it's how you interact with others. Those values are very important to me. I even teach my kids all of those things. I feel so responsible to raise decent adults, and I'm like, okay, what can I hone in on? And those are where I honed in, along with time management. I'll throw time management in there any day. Those are the skills that I really teach my kids, because I think if you can just do these, you'll be successful.
