Sharyn Flanagan
Sharyn Flanagan is a seasoned creative operations and production executive with more than 20 years of experience leading high-performing teams across television, film, and streaming platforms. She currently consults through SF Productions, her freelance consulting and production company, and has recently launched a consulting LLC focused on team management, resource building, and production support. Most recently, Sharyn served as Vice President of Marketing & Brand Creative Production at Paramount, where she oversaw global campaigns for major franchises, including but not limited to, Yellowstone, Landman, MobLand, Dexter, Love & Hip Hop, Jersey Shore, CMT Music Awards and RuPaul’s Drag Race, before departing during the November corporate layoffs. Sharyn’s professional focus blends creative production expertise with organizational leadership. She excels at building teams, streamlining cross-functional processes, and delivering high-quality trailers, promos, key art, photography, and event/shoot production. Her philosophy emphasizes practical, on-the-ground project management alongside strategic team design, ensuring projects are executed efficiently while fostering high-performing, collaborative environments. Throughout her career, she has held senior positions at NBCUniversal and AMC Networks and began her journey in media production as a production assistant at Chatsby Films following an internship at a production company. Sharyn holds a degree in Media Communications from Fordham University and is recognized for her ability to align creative vision with operational excellence. Known for mentoring teams, optimizing workflows, and managing complex, high-visibility campaigns, she continues to make a lasting impact in the industry. Through SF Productions and her consulting LLC, she provides companies and agencies with both strategic guidance and hands-on production support, helping teams deliver intentional, innovative, and memorable work.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, a constant eagerness to learn, and a commitment to treating others with respect. I strive to make a meaningful difference every day, approaching challenges with dedication and a willingness to grow both personally and professionally.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to go beyond just learning my own role—take the time to understand the responsibilities of others, pitch in whenever possible without being asked, and always prioritize strong time management. This approach not only builds collaboration but also opens doors for growth and meaningful contributions.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to hustle relentlessly and never stop striving. Have confidence in yourself and the quality of your work, always aim for excellence, and lead by example to inspire those around you.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is leveraging my expertise in Digital and Media Communications to support an increasing number of individuals and companies in achieving their goals. The challenge lies in staying ahead of rapidly evolving technologies and platforms while continuing to deliver meaningful, impactful solutions.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are openness and honesty, truly listening to others with empathy, leading by example as a team leader, and serving as a mentor to help others grow and succeed.
My motto is and always will be, I am only successful because of the amazing team around me, never be worried to know less than your co-captains. I thrive in knowing a team I’m apart of is far more knowledgeable in areas I am not, it brings the best minds together and really delivers the best product.
