Her Interview
Ten minutes with Shatabdi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a career built on continuous learning, adaptability, and a commitment to driving meaningful technology transformation. Since beginning my professional journey at the age of 22, I have held leadership roles at Hitachi Consulting, Canon USA, PVH—supporting globally recognized brands such as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger—and now serve as Chief Information Officer at Capacity, where I lead technology transformation initiatives and manage strategic relationships with beauty and fragrance brands. Embracing new challenges, fostering strong partnerships, and staying focused on delivering business value have been key to my growth, culminating in the honor of being recognized as one of the Top 20 Influential Women Business Leaders by Women We Admired in 2025.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received has come from the mentors who have guided me throughout my career. Eileen Maloney has been my mentor since the beginning of my journey, and even in retirement, she continues to offer valuable guidance. Along with David and Brian, they have taught me the importance of continuous learning, confident leadership, and embracing new challenges.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You can have a successful career in any country and in any field with hard work and determination.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Having been in my current role for only six months, my biggest opportunity is gaining a deeper understanding of the business while identifying new ways technology can drive growth and innovation. It's an exciting time to learn, build strong relationships, and deliver meaningful impact as I continue to shape the organization's technology strategy.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are hard work, service, and continuous growth. I am committed to delivering meaningful results through technology in my role as Chief Information Officer, where I focus on driving transformation, building strong client relationships, and creating business value. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and reading, and I believe in giving back to the community by volunteering at St. Joseph Nursing Home, where I spend time with the geriatric population.
