What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the foundational disciplines I developed as an athlete. Those experiences taught me coachability, self-regulation, resilience, accountability, and the importance of continuous improvement. These principles ultimately inspired my philosophy that leadership is a sport.
Throughout my career, I have consistently focused on learning, growing, and evolving while striving to maximize my contribution and impact. I approach challenges with discipline, resourcefulness, flexibility, and determination. One of my proudest accomplishments has been successfully navigating the uncertainty and disruption of the past several years while continuing to create opportunities, help organizations grow, and prove to myself what is possible through persistence and adaptability.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most valuable career advice I have embraced is to remain coachable and to lead myself before attempting to lead others.
Throughout my career, I have learned that effective leadership begins with self-awareness, self-discipline, and personal accountability. By continuously investing in my own growth, regulating my emotions, remaining open to feedback, and committing to improvement, I have been better equipped to contribute to teams, support others, and create meaningful impact within organizations.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to follow the money trail and seek opportunities to understand how businesses generate revenue. Too often, women are directed toward roles that are perceived as support functions rather than revenue-driving functions. I encourage women to actively pursue involvement in strategic, financial, and deal-making conversations where critical business decisions are made. By understanding what drives organizational growth and business performance, you position yourself to demonstrate your value in a meaningful way. There remains significant opportunity for women in leadership, business development, and revenue-generating roles. Be proactive, remain curious, continue learning, and do not allow yourself to be excluded from conversations that shape the future of a business.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges today is the overwhelming amount of noise and disruption in the marketplace. Organizations are competing for attention in increasingly crowded environments while simultaneously adapting to rapid technological changes, including the impact of artificial intelligence. This constant disruption often creates uncertainty, stress, and heightened competition across industries.
At the same time, I believe opportunity exists wherever challenges exist. Every problem represents a potential opportunity for innovation, leadership, and value creation. Individuals and organizations that can identify problems, create solutions, and help others navigate complexity will continue to find meaningful opportunities for growth. My focus is on helping leaders and organizations uncover those opportunities and transform challenges into forward momentum.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity, integrity, transparency, inclusivity, and continuous growth are the values that guide both my professional and personal life.
I believe in being genuine, honest, and straightforward in all interactions. I maintain a strong commitment to ethical behavior and transparency, and I strive to create environments where diverse perspectives are welcomed and valued. Equally important is my dedication to lifelong learning, personal evolution, and helping others grow alongside me. These values shape how I lead, how I build relationships, and how I contribute to organizations and communities.
