Her Story
About Shauna
As a mentor and business owner for 17 years, I started as a teen ministry leader with my husband. The girls needed separate space to talk and vent, so it grew from a once-a-week thing into events inviting others from churches and schools. I started the group Ladies of Virtuous Empowerment using the acronym LOVE, now called Love Nation with no boundaries or limits. I've walked alongside young ladies who overcame molestation, suicidal thoughts, and became mothers, wives, entrepreneurs, teachers, and engineers. I've added real estate, education, and my husband and I have a barbering school along with job resources and career paths, all becoming the community bridge builder.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Shauna
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the Holy Trinity, my husband, and my children. They are my biggest cheerleaders.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't give up. If today is not a good day, become again tomorrow. Tomorrow's not a good day, come again on the third day. Don't give up.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
People aren't genuine. A lot of people want to connect just for opportunity versus longevity, really sowing into someone's life to bring change. It's all about profit, the riches and the glitz and the glam, not really wanting to take the time to give a hug or words of wisdom.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, integrity, faith, love, good vibes, truth, hope, joy, peace, morals. When you have those things, you're a better person.
