Shawna Parry

Shawna Parry is a social and human services professional based in Washington state. She holds a general associate's degree and pivoted to social services leadership about a decade ago after initially pursuing nursing but being unable to continue due to family responsibilities and finances. Until recently, she held a leadership role in social services that involved travel across the state, but she was laid off three months ago. She now focuses on volunteer board service as chair of the Whitman County Parks and Recreation District, where she oversees the community municipal pool and ensures compliance with county and state requirements. She also serves on the board of directors for River City Youth in Spokane, Washington. In addition, she is in the early stages of launching a youth-focused leadership nonprofit, through which she develops and delivers trainings on leadership, civic engagement, servant leadership, and emotional intelligence.
