Ten minutes with Shayla
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my drive, adaptability, and genuine commitment to serving others. Throughout my career, I have approached every role with the mindset of helping my teams and colleagues achieve their goals rather than focusing solely on my own advancement. By leading with empathy, embracing change, and contributing wherever I can make the greatest impact, I have built strong teams, developed future leaders, and helped organizations achieve lasting success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is simple: go for it. If you have a vision, passion, or calling, trust yourself enough to pursue it. Every opportunity presents a chance to grow, whether it leads to immediate success or valuable lessons that prepare you for the next step. Believe in yourself, have the courage to take risks, and don't be afraid to pivot when circumstances change. Growth comes from taking action, not waiting for the perfect moment.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest challenges in healthcare and wellness is helping people distinguish evidence-based treatments from passing trends. As innovations such as peptides, GLP therapies, and personalized wellness solutions continue to evolve, there is an increasing need for education so patients can make informed decisions about their health. At the same time, these advancements create tremendous opportunities to deliver more personalized care, strengthen client relationships, and improve long-term health outcomes through innovation and ongoing education.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the foundation of everything I do. I believe in taking initiative without waiting to be asked, leading by example, and following through on commitments. I value collaboration because the strongest results come from diverse perspectives working toward a common goal. I also believe in honest communication, constructive feedback, and creating environments where continuous improvement is encouraged. Finally, I embrace calculated risk-taking because growth comes from being willing to try new ideas, learn from challenges, and keep moving forward.
