Her Story
About Shayna
I've always been in sales from being young to now. I started off as a host at a restaurant, then worked at a gym doing front desk service, upsells, and memberships. After that, I went into serving for restaurants and always stayed in hospitality. About a year ago, I found high ticket sales work online while finishing my degree in college. I started making good money with it, so I left college on my last semester of senior year, moved to Miami, and finished my degree online. I'm graduating in 10 days. I started off in high ticket sales as a closer and then went into coaching and management. Now I run my own business called Closed by Her, where I coach women in high ticket sales, and I also manage a team for Construction Cartel, which provides coaching on how to get into subcontracting. My typical day involves managing my team, running webinars, having coaching calls with the women I coach, onboarding students, reviewing sales calls, and identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement. I sell coaching courses ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, specifically business coaching for people to get into high ticket sales. I got into this because I've always been good at talking to people, and I knew I didn't want to do anything with my math degree in a 9-to-5 job, so I decided to go down this route instead.

Ten minutes with Shayna
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say just keep going, like no matter what your mood is telling you. If you really want something, it's not gonna be easy. Nothing in life is really easy. If it's hard to get, that means there's gonna be a greater outcome. You have to hold the mindset that it's just like a bad day, but you have to still get through it, and your mood can't decide what you do every day.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I would say rejection, a lot of rejection when it comes to reaching out to people and doing the cold calling. Trying to close the deal sometimes is the biggest obstacle, or even finding leads to get into my coaching academy. I'm working off commission like most entrepreneurs, so if you don't have the lead flow or you get rejected and there's a bad day, you have to hold the mindset that it's just a bad day, but you have to still get through it. Your mood can't decide what you do every day.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I never wanted to settle down for a 9-to-5. I can't see myself sitting in an office cubicle for 20 years of my life just to retire. I think I have so many achievements and things I want to accomplish while I'm younger, so I knew that the risks that you have to take are worth the outcome. My dad was in the entrepreneur business, and I always knew I wanted to follow that path rather than the traditional route.
