Shayna Vyas, MBA, MLS(ASCP)

Shayna Vyas, MBA, MLS(ASCP), is the Assistant Administrative Director of the Clinical Laboratory at Kaiser Permanente in Tracy, California. A Clinical Laboratory Scientist by training, Shayna brings extensive experience in laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance. She has a proven track record of managing teams, implementing new laboratory equipment and assays, and ensuring efficient, accurate reporting across clinical and blood bank operations. Her approach emphasizes continuous improvement, team collaboration, and operational excellence.

Originally from the Fiji Islands, Shayna earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the Fiji School of Medicine in 2007. She began her professional career as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with the Ministry of Health in Fiji, where she gained hands-on experience in laboratory testing and operations from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, she moved to the United States to expand her expertise, and she later earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business in 2020.

Shayna is recognized for her leadership skills, including staff training, mentorship, and fostering a positive team culture. She has overseen workflow optimization, staff competency programs, and compliance with state and federal regulations, prioritizing both professional development and operational efficiency. Looking ahead, Shayna envisions herself continuing to grow in leadership roles within healthcare, combining her technical expertise with strategic management to drive innovation and quality in clinical laboratory operations.
