Her Story
About Sheena
Sheena Wight is an HR technology and ERP transformation executive, recognized industry influencer, and passionate advocate for the HR technology community. With more than 20 years of experience across HR, HRIS, analytics, and enterprise transformation—including more than 11 years specializing in Workday—she has built a career at the intersection of people, technology, data, and business strategy.
Today, Sheena serves as Senior Director of ERP Transformation at Mohegan, where she architects enterprise ERP strategy and a multi-year transformation roadmap for a global organization of approximately 10,000 employees. She previously led Mohegan’s end-to-end global Workday implementation across all HR modules, delivering the large-scale transformation before shifting her focus toward continuous optimization, adoption, scalability, innovation, and long-term value realization.
That distinction—between implementing technology and creating lasting value from technology—has become a defining theme of Sheena’s leadership.
Throughout her career, Sheena has led global HR technology strategy, Workday implementations, analytics, operating-model design, process transformation, and enterprise roadmaps. At Genworth Financial, she led a full-lifecycle global Workday implementation before taking global responsibility for Workday analytics and HR analytics strategy. At Orthofix Medical, she progressed from HRIS Analyst to Director of HR Talent Systems and Analytics, leading global systems and analytics strategy and helping transform workforce data into actionable business insight.
Her experience extends beyond large global enterprises. As Head of Human Resources for a high-growth technology startup, Sheena built the HR function from the ground up—including systems, policies, talent strategy, compensation philosophy, performance management, and operational infrastructure—while helping enable 7x organizational growth in just eight months.
Influence Beyond the Organization
Sheena’s impact extends well beyond the companies she has served. Her contributions to the HR technology ecosystem earned her recognition among the 2025 Top 100 Workday Influencers and Top 50 Women SAP Influencers to Follow, reflecting a professional voice and influence that reaches across the broader enterprise technology community.
She is also the Founder and Leader of the Workday Dallas User Group, where she has spent years helping create a community centered on learning, networking, collaboration, and openly sharing knowledge. She previously served as a leader with Women on Workday, supporting greater connection and visibility for women throughout the Workday ecosystem. Her résumé also reflects Workday Pro credentials in HCM and Reporting as well as SPHR and SHRM-SCP senior HR certifications.
Sheena continues to share her expertise publicly, including presenting on emerging Workday technology at the 2026 Workday TOLA event in Dallas, which drew more than 300 attendees and was described as the largest Workday user-group meeting in the United States.
Her MBA in Organizational and Human Resource Development, combined with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, reflects an intersection that has defined her career: understanding both people and the systems that enable them to succeed.
Sheena’s leadership is rooted in curiosity, clarity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. She is known for bringing structure to complicated, high-stakes environments, translating data into action, and creating strategies that allow organizations to grow smarter and move faster.
As artificial intelligence and automation redefine the workplace, Sheena believes HR technology leaders have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to become architects of how organizations operate. The future of HRIS, in her view, isn’t simply about maintaining systems or completing implementations. It’s about using technology, data, AI, and emerging capabilities to influence business strategy and create measurable organizational value.
For Sheena, successful transformation isn’t defined by a go-live date. It’s defined by what becomes possible afterward.

Ten minutes with Sheena
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Build a career that you will love long-term and that can flex with your life goals as you journey through different phases of life. Who you work with will be more important than where you work. Surround yourself with great people inside and outside of work and the rest will work itself out.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Integrating AI into HR systems is an everyday challenge that isn’t fully solvable YET. But we’re working on it! The landscape and path are changing every single day and more time than ever is being spent on flexing and adapting plans and strategy to the constant change. While also trying to understand what’s changing and how. It’s a very interesting time to be in technology. It’s exciting to be actively building the what’s next.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
It’s important that I love my job and I’ve been lucky enough to love what I do most of my career with only a few short exceptions. My family is very important to me and I keep them at the center of every thing I do and every decision I make.
