About Sheila
Sheila Dunbar is a distinguished author, pastor, marketing professional, mental health counselor, and chaplain dedicated to serving others through faith, leadership, and community outreach. Based in Claymont, Delaware, she has been an author since 2022, publishing impactful works including I Am She and She Is Me, Your Words I Declare and Decree: Your Words Matter, and contributing to various anthologies available on Amazon. With 15 years of pastoral experience and a marketing career spanning more than two decades, Dunbar combines her expertise in communication, ministry, and counseling to inspire and empower individuals from all walks of life.
Dunbar is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Delaware Diocese Gospel Coalition, where she leads ministry initiatives focused on faith, service, and personal growth. She holds a Doctor of Divinity and a Master’s in Religion from New York Christian Bible College, along with a degree in Mental Health Counseling from Light University. In addition to her work as a pastor, speaker, and teacher, she serves as a chaplain supporting hospice patients, nursing home residents, and emergency response efforts. She also hosts the morning broadcast Declare It and produces the Kingdom Conversations podcast, creating platforms that encourage meaningful conversations and spiritual growth.
Throughout her career, Dunbar has remained committed to serving her community through outreach, including feeding the homeless and supporting those in need. She presents the Woods Award of Excellence scholarship annually to encourage educational achievement and invest in future generations. She credits her success to the influence of her mother, whose faith, humility, and values shaped her life’s mission. Guided by her commitment to God, family, and church, Dunbar continues to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs and authors while working on her upcoming book, The Elevator Up, which aims to encourage and uplift widows through messages of hope and resilience.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mother. In my books there are tribute pages dedication page. And it's because she pushed on us to advance in the kingdom to advance in life to study to write the vision and make it plain. She was a woman of faith so she in the way that she walked and she lived she was the example. Her humility showed me that greatness is not applause and her faith told me that obedience is offered louder than boldness. She shaped me to become. Now they call me the new mama.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Surround yourself with individuals whose gifts and talents bring positivity and value to your life. Strive to be present give your best effort in all endeavors and remain steadfast as a woman of integrity guided by faith and love. Value your time and show up on time to ensure you give your best.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Work in a spirit of excellence and strive to be the best that you can really be. Use your gifts and talents because you first have to believe in yourself to inspire someone else to believe. Speak life walk in faith and live a life that you are blessed. We speak it we believe it and we receive it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My goals and aspirations are to mentor to speak life into other to a younger generation. I want to mentor them that are coming. I want to be entrepreneurs to be authors to inspire them to use what they have. To write another book called The Elevator Up to encourage widows to embrace the new life.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
What is most important first and foremost is my facing God first and then my family and then the church. I have a morning broadcast I do it's called Declare It. And we also have a podcast we do that's called Kingdom Conversation. I fell into people and I help build churches or ministries or organizations.
