Her Story

About Sheila

Sheila Jones operates a consulting business in New Jersey, which she formally established within the last 10 years after decades of informally assisting others with advice and connections. Her work focuses on supporting both secular and faith-based organizations, particularly in planting and growing churches, connecting clients with trusted subcontractors for building projects, and identifying grants and financial resources to meet their needs. Jones pursued studies in journalism and communication in college, initially launching a small community newspaper years ago to keep residents informed on local events before shifting her focus to direct community support and empowerment. She maintains several professional certifications, including as a Mental Health First Responder to stabilize crises until professionals arrive, specialized training in Narcan due to urban drug activity, and human trafficking identification obtained just before the World Cup. For 20-25 years, Jones has volunteered with the organization She Has a Name, collaborating with judges, police, and others on street sweeps to remove exploiters, place women into rehab, and provide meals, showers, clean clothes, and a supportive home-like environment for those recovering from addiction and human trafficking. Her approach is rooted in genuine compassion, as she advises that success in this field requires heartfelt passion and commitment rather than treating it as just a job.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you don't have that passion or that compassion for that input, this is not for you. It's rough, so everybody is not well-suited. You have to make sure that this is really not just a job. It's your heart is there. If your heart is in it, then you're going to put everything that you have into it.
