Shelbie Hand

Shelbie Hand serves as Development Manager, renewables at Atwell, LLC, based in Midland, Michigan. She entered the power and energy industry in 2019, driven by her passion for renewables in a field where women comprise only 32 percent of the global workforce and 16 percent of board seats at large utilities. In her role, Hand provides strategic oversight for large utility-scale renewable energy developers, managing the full project lifecycle from inception to NTP while coordinating across land acquisition, engineering, permitting, community engagement, and MISO interconnection submittals. She maintains a client-facing position, delivering stage-gate presentations and project updates to ensure successful delivery. Hand earned her Bachelor's of Science in Business Management after 10 years of part-time study while working and raising her family as a single mom. She is currently pursuing her PMP certification and previously volunteered for three years with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer through the American Cancer Society.
