What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my grandmother. She really taught me what hard work was and gave me my get-her-done attitude. She grew up on a farm, and you just gotta do it - you just gotta get it done. I grew up showing cattle and in FFA, so those 5 a.m. wake-up calls when you're young really shaped me. Growing up with a small business owner family, I've been doing the book work since I was 14, so I've always just had to figure it out. Thank goodness for the internet, because it's made it a lot easier. I feel like I've been lucky enough to have a lot of very good mentors along the way that really have helped me grow and have seen my potential.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to always start the day with a smile. Because if you have a good attitude, anything can happen - you can do anything.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work and personal life are hard work, perseverance, a get-it-done mindset, positivity, and a strong commitment to nonprofit causes, especially animal rescue. I also value family traditions and time in nature, which I connect to through gardening—a practice I grew up with alongside my grandmother, a master gardener. At home, this shows up in caring for my two dogs, including a rescued bulldog who recently turned three, and staying actively involved in supporting animal rescue efforts.
