Shelita Jenkins
Shelita Jenkins is a seasoned IT professional and ServiceNow Architect at Vontier, where she has been shaping enterprise IT solutions since October 2021. With a strong foundation in IT service management, Shelita has led teams, implemented complex infrastructure solutions, and optimized ServiceNow platforms to enhance operational efficiency. Her prior experience includes roles at the United States Postal Service as a CMDB/ServiceNow Admin and at the NC Department of Health and Human Services as a Consultant and IT Production Support Manager, where she leveraged Agile methodologies and ITIL best practices to support critical systems like NC FAST across 100 counties. Earlier in her career, Shelita managed IT Help Desk teams for HCL Technologies and maintained enterprise computing environments at Celadon Group Inc.
Shelita’s journey into IT was intentional and persistent. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering and a master’s degree in IT and Computer Science from the University of Phoenix, she intentionally started at the help desk level to gain experience and access opportunities in IT. “Just because you have a degree doesn’t mean you have all the experience,” she reflects. Her career progression demonstrates resilience, strategic thinking, and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities. She advises young women pursuing IT careers: never take no for an answer, remain focused, and keep pushing toward your goals, no matter the obstacles.
Outside of work, Shelita is passionate about sports and reading. A lifelong basketball enthusiast, she enjoys playing with her children and sharing the love of the game. She also finds joy in reading romance novels and is exploring ways to give back to her community, including considering involvement with organizations like the Ronald McDonald House. Shelita attributes her success to her “drive out of this world,” which motivates her both professionally and personally, as she now works toward building her own IT consulting business. Her story exemplifies determination, leadership, and a commitment to lifelong learning and impact.

I attribute my success to an unwavering drive and determination that consistently pushes me to excel. People often comment on my work ethic, and I believe this relentless motivation has been a key factor in my achievements. Currently, I am channeling this energy into building my own IT consulting business, applying the same focus, discipline, and passion that have guided me throughout my career in technology and service management.
