Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shelly

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to growth. Every challenge I've faced has been an opportunity to learn, adjust, and become stronger. Rather than letting adversity define me, I've chosen to let it refine me. That mindset has shaped both my personal life and career allowing me to build trust, embrace change, and continue growing while helping others navigate their own financial journeys with confidence.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to never stop learning, always be willing to adapt, and continually strive to become better. Growth requires an open mind and a willingness to embrace change, and it's never too late to pursue a new opportunity, develop a new skill, or redefine your path. Those principles have guided both my personal and professional journey.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be willing to work for what you want and never let others define your potential or limit it yourself. Believe in your abilities, embrace every opportunity to learn, and have the confidence to pursue your goals. The only limits that truly matter are the ones you choose to accept.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in my field is staying informed in an ever-evolving financial landscape. Continuous learning is essential to providing clients with the best guidance. The biggest opportunity I see is the versatility of the career. As advisors, we are able to develop specialized expertise and build a practice around the clients' and areas of planning we are most passionate about serving.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my personal and professional life are honesty, integrity, tenacity, and grit. I believe every challenge presents an opportunity for growth, and that perseverance, coupled with strong values, is the foundation for lasting success.
