About Shelly
Shelly De Leon is an author and artist based in San Diego, California. She has been self-published for two years and has written about her experience in Israel on October 7th, 2023 from a spiritual lens. Her painting is deeply spiritual as well. DeLeon has studied business at UCSD. She is also a certified Christian Coach and has been commissioned as a Watchman on the Wall. She is a member of Stand With Us and the White Rose Resistance. De Leon attributes her writing success to perseverance and advises young women who have a book in their heart to be willing to overcome hurdles, remembering you can accomplish difficult tasks. Look to those who have succeeded before and research their methods. She values peace, sincerity, and truthfulness, seeing these as pursuits of beauty that encompass all areas of life. The biggest challenges in writing can be overcome if you simply decide that you can do it.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Do it afraid.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be willing to overcome hurdles. Remember that you can do things even if they're hard. Research people who've done it before you, and figure it out.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges for me with writing where self-publishing is concerned had to do with overcoming the technical aspects layout and design. There is so much help available now online and with AI that with some research you will find that you can do it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Sincerity. It's something so beautiful and akin to the truth.
