Her Story

About Sherein

I am a veterinary pathologist and academic leader with nearly three decades of experience in veterinary education, research, and international collaboration, currently serving as Associate Professor at Tuskegee University's College of Veterinary Medicine, a role I have held since July 2024, where I contribute to veterinary pathology education and research at one of the nation's leading historically Black universities.

Prior to this role, I served as Visiting Professor at May University in Cairo for nearly two years, and before that, I spent over twenty-eight years at Cairo University in progressively responsible roles, including Full Professor for over ten years, where I taught and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducted research in various aspects of pathology, and supervised theses, Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology for over five years, Lecturer of Veterinary Pathology for over five years, Assistant Lecturer for over four years, and Demonstrator for over four years.

I also served as a USDA and FEP Fellow at the USDA Agricultural Research Service for five months, and as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for ten months, where I engaged in international research and academic exchange.

Across my career in veterinary pathology, education, and international collaboration, my work has been driven by a commitment to advancing veterinary science, training the next generation of veterinarians and researchers, and building bridges between institutions and countries through academic exchange and research partnerships. Whether I am teaching veterinary pathology, conducting research, or serving as a visiting scholar, I bring a collaborative, student-centered approach and a dedication to excellence in education and research. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue contributing to veterinary education and research at Tuskegee University and beyond.
