She is also focused on creating generational wealth and opportunities for others through entrepreneurship and community involvement. Outside of her professional work, Woodard volunteers with the Cupid Undie Run, supporting fundraising efforts for neurofibromatosis research, and contributes to Junior Achievement programs that help prepare young people for future success. She is also developing a nonprofit and scholarship organization in honor of her late brother, with the goal of supporting children who have experienced the loss of a parent and helping them pursue educational opportunities.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sherene
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for helping others and making a positive difference, even when there is no financial compensation involved. My entrepreneurial journey is driven by my desire to create greater flexibility so I can be present for my children while building a career that is meaningful and fulfilling. I want to encourage and inspire my children to pursue work they are passionate about rather than feeling confined to jobs they do not enjoy simply for a paycheck. Ultimately, my goal is to create generational wealth and help position my children for greater financial security and opportunities earlier in life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to believe in myself, recognize the value of my experience and capabilities, and have the courage to pursue opportunities that align with my purpose. My journey has taught me that success is not only about achieving professional goals, but also about using my experiences to serve others, create opportunities, and build a meaningful legacy. I believe in taking intentional risks, remaining resilient through challenges, and staying committed to creating greater flexibility and generational wealth for my family while making a positive impact in my community.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to never doubt your capabilities, talents, or dreams. We are often conditioned to believe that success means working a traditional 9-to-5 for someone else, rather than recognizing and pursuing the unique strengths, ideas, and opportunities within ourselves. Be willing to take a calculated leap of faith and step outside of your comfort zone. Most importantly, believe in yourself first, because your confidence and self-belief lay the foundation for others to recognize and believe in your potential.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field is the ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while building a strong foundation for my family and future generations. I am especially motivated by opportunities to serve, mentor, and create resources that help people overcome challenges and achieve their goals. As a veteran and a mother of three daughters, I value leadership, resilience, and service, and I strive to demonstrate those qualities through both my professional work and community involvement. Looking ahead, I am particularly passionate about developing a nonprofit and scholarship organization to support children who have experienced the loss of a parent and help them pursue higher education. My goal is to use my experiences and resources to create opportunities for others while building a legacy of service, empowerment, and generational impact for my daughters.
