Sheri LaClare

Sheri LaClare serves in human services as the operator of a children's mental health clinic. She manages every aspect of running the clinic that does not involve direct work with children, from ensuring facilities function properly and sidewalks are maintained to scheduling client transportation, handling all billing, maintaining insurance compliance, overseeing audits, and supporting general operations. Her main area of expertise lies in helping staff members grow into their positions and advance beyond them. LaClare entered the field after her husband underwent surgery that did not go as planned, taking a job to provide support that she ultimately stayed with and built into a career. A high school graduate who attended travel agent school but did not pursue that path, she worked her way up from the ground through the school of hard knocks. She attributes her success to her desire for her daughters to always be proud of her and shares career advice that nothing is unachievable if one sets their mind to it and works hard.
