About Sherie

My typical day varies greatly, but it always centers on leadership and service. We start with chief's briefings where the chief and deputy chiefs discuss what's happening across our bureaus. I lead my teams, particularly in recruiting, where we develop strategies to bring new individuals into law enforcement. I do a lot of public speaking - just last week I went to my alma mater high school to talk to students about their interest in law enforcement and the opportunities we have here. A critical part of my role is reviewing use of force incidents and making recommendations regarding training or potential discipline. I also manage the budget for my bureau and work with community members to address issues. As one of five deputy chiefs and one of the highest-ranking members of the department with only the chief above me, I'm proud to serve in this capacity. Beyond my professional responsibilities, I balance life as it happens - I've cared for my parents, with my mother becoming paralyzed in 2016 and my father passing in 2023. I'm also a mother of three daughters, and I've enjoyed attending their sporting events over the years. I believe in legacy and the impact you can have in your career while maintaining your personal brand.
