Sherilyn Laughlin is a seasoned commercial banking professional with nearly 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. She currently serves as Senior Commercial Relationship Manager for Emerging Middle Markets at BMO, where she works with businesses generating approximately $10 million to $100 million in annual revenue. Throughout her career, Sherilyn has held roles in business banking, commercial banking, and private banking, building extensive expertise in financial planning, wealth management, lending, and relationship management.
Sherilyn specializes in developing tailored financial solutions that support the needs and growth of middle-market businesses. Her areas of expertise include deposits, credit facilities, treasury management, international transactions, and cash flow management. Her experience serving high-net-worth clients also strengthened her capabilities in customized credit, investment planning, and comprehensive financial services. She is known for building trusted, long-term client relationships while providing personalized and strategic financial guidance.
Beyond banking, Sherilyn is deeply committed to community involvement and leadership. She has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Truckee for 35 years, serving as past president and assistant district governor, and has contributed to organizations including the Boys & Girls Club and search and rescue. Sherilyn credits her community involvement with helping her build trust and lasting professional relationships. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, relationship-building, and my involvement in Rotary. As a single parent, I pursued banking to build a better life for my son, and Rotary gave me a strong platform to earn trust, develop meaningful connections, and build lifelong relationships that supported my career.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to keep an open mind and heart, be confident in your opinions, and never be afraid to speak up. Make sure your voice is heard professionally without dominating the conversation, and always look for ways to lift others up.
