About Shernet
Shernet Watson is a flight attendant with seven years of experience in the aviation industry. She began her career as a gate agent at Allegiant Airlines, where she became intrigued by the stories of flight attendants and decided to pursue the role herself. Watson values the flexibility and variety the position offers, allowing her to serve others while experiencing different cultures and avoiding a routine 9-to-5 schedule. Currently, she is working toward her private pilot license, motivated by her young son's innocent assumption that she is already a pilot, which encouraged her to aim higher in aviation. Watson advises women entering the industry, especially mothers, that while it can be challenging, it provides unique opportunities for personal growth and family experiences, emphasizing that the sky is the limit both figuratively and literally.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It depends on the woman. If you're a woman with kids, of course it's gonna be challenging as a mom, you want to be there 24-7 for your child, but I do believe that it brings opportunity not just for yourself but for your family as well. It gives you the flexibility and the initiative to say maybe tonight you feel like sleeping in the Bahamas or tomorrow you want to be in London and it's possible. The sky's the limit figuratively and literally. Every culture every city every place brings something different. If they're gonna do it just do it.
