With a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching from Concordia University, Nebraska, Sherri brings a lifelong passion for service, compassion, and community engagement to her work. At Foothills Caring Corps, she oversees initiatives such as Music Movement and Memory and the Memory Café, both of which promote meaningful connection and provide vital resources for seniors and their caregivers.
Before joining Foothills Caring Corps, Sherri’s career journey spanned roles in education and memory care, where she developed a deep understanding of how empathy and engagement can transform lives. Her work emphasizes creating dementia-friendly communities through training and outreach—teaching local businesses and residents how to better support individuals with cognitive challenges. Collaborating with organizations like Arizona LEAD, Sherri continues to advocate for accessibility and dignity in care, ensuring that seniors in Carefree and Cave Creek feel valued and included.
Beyond her professional work, Sherri’s life is guided by her faith, family, and love for community. After becoming an empty nester, she and her husband relocated to Arizona, embracing the state’s natural beauty and taking up hiking as a new shared hobby. She credits her Christian faith and strong family foundation for shaping her values and resilience.
