About Sherry
Sherry Gould is a seasoned operations and organizational leader serving as Vice President of Operations at YMC Young Management & Consulting, an energy consulting organization based in the Atlanta area. She joined YMC in 2023, bringing extensive experience in operations, strategic delivery, business process engineering, technology, and organizational transformation. In her current role, she oversees the organization's operational ecosystem, including functions such as fleet, IT, finance, and broader infrastructure, with a focus on building efficient, resilient, and scalable systems that support long-term growth.
Before transitioning into the energy consulting sector, Sherry developed approximately two decades of experience in technology, holding progressively senior leadership positions with Cox Communications and other organizations. Her career included leadership in wireless engineering program delivery, product and technology, problem and vendor performance management, vendor management, and release management. Earlier in her professional journey, she honorably served as a Non-commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve, where she facilitated classroom and field training exercises for approximately 300 enlisted personnel. Her military experience provided a strong foundation in leadership, operations, discipline, and integrity.
Sherry holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Arts in Information Technology Governance from Georgia State University. She is passionate about connecting with people, mentoring young women, and helping others enter and advance within the energy industry. She also contributes to community-focused initiatives through YMC Cares Foundation, Love Beyond Walls, Huskies Helping Huskies, and the Elios Foundation, supporting causes including homelessness and food insecurity. Sherry attributes her success to the support of her family and remains guided by integrity, service, and a commitment to creating opportunities for others.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family and their unwavering support. They gave me the confidence and encouragement to take risks, pursue new opportunities, and spread my wings throughout my career.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to consider the energy industry because it opens many doors without closing opportunities for growth. There is significant room to develop, advance, and grow rapidly within the field. I also believe in helping others enter the industry and supporting their professional development.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the value that matters most to me, both professionally and personally. My military experience helped instill the importance of integrity in how I approach my work, relationships, and responsibilities.
