Her Story

About Sherry

Sherry Renshaw is an accomplished executive assistant with 19 years of administrative and executive support experience, including the past four years providing high-level C-suite support. Currently serving as an Executive Assistant at AdventHealth Polk, she is recognized for her expertise in executive operations, scheduling, travel coordination, event planning, project management, and organizational efficiency. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Southwestern Community College and is an active member of the American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP), continually investing in professional growth and excellence.

Throughout her career, Renshaw has built a reputation as a trusted partner to executive leadership, known for her professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to delivering exceptional support. One of her most significant accomplishments came during the acquisition of what is now AdventHealth Polk, when Hurricane Helene struck simultaneously. Amid the challenges of organizational transition and a natural disaster, she played a vital role in coordinating emergency efforts, supporting executive leadership, and fostering team morale by creating a welcoming space for staff through a coffee bar initiative. Her calm leadership, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize people during times of uncertainty exemplify her approach to service.

Renshaw attributes her success to the inspiration she draws from her three daughters, whose encouragement motivates her to lead with purpose each day. She believes that kindness, respect, and genuine human connection are the foundation of both professional and personal success. Dedicated to creating positive workplace experiences, she strives to build meaningful relationships, support those around her, and contribute to organizational cultures where collaboration, compassion, and excellence thrive.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sherry

01What do you attribute your success to?

My children. They are the grace in this life to me. They've been my world and my motivation. But I want them to see me as a woman who has overcome a lot of trials to make a life for myself and for them.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't take things so personally. Self-control is strength. Right thought is mastery. Calmness is power.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay true to yourself. And use your voice. Respectfully, of course.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

AI is one of those things that helps us to streamline our work, but also that's one of those scary topics about replacement. Any business that values a human connection especially for those who assist them every day needs a human touch.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

We're all human. And we all bleed. And to treat people with courtesy and respect. Because they're human is something fundamental. Caring. I believe all of that comes back to you in the end. Holding that value of kindness and conscientiousness about the things that we do, and the people that are around us.
