Her Story

About Sheryl

I started my career over 30 years ago in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist, where I owned several salons in my city. My passion for making women look and feel beautiful drove everything I did, especially because at one point in my life, I didn't feel beautiful myself, so I wanted to create that experience for others. From there, I transitioned into event planning and opened two event centers where I did amazing weddings, birthdays, children's parties, and all kinds of different events for people. Now I'm working for a billion-dollar company doing the same thing, overseeing their promotions to make sure they're up-to-date and done professionally. I go into the company every day, figure out what kind of promotion we're going to do, execute it, make it beautiful, decorate it, and inspire other team members. I've also been in ministry since 2007, and I empower women to let them know that you can succeed no matter what path you've been on. There's always opportunity for a comeback, and you just have to keep your faith and trust in the Lord. I'm an encourager and an inspirer, and I never want people to give up.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, determination, dreaming, and never giving up. I always try to go higher and continue to elevate. I never stop dreaming, and I just keep believing that I could do it and that it was possible. That belief in myself and that constant push to keep learning and keep growing has been everything.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to always believe in yourself and to always keep learning. Never stop thinking you've arrived. That advice has stuck with me throughout my entire career and has helped me continue to grow and evolve across different industries.
