About Sheryl

Sheryl Hatwood is a contract manager at Deloitte, where she oversees global contract management and leads a team of approximately 15 professionals handling procurement negotiations for offices around the world. She brings 10 years of experience at the firm after a total of 30 years in the workforce. Hatwood has pursued entrepreneurship for 15 years, entering the fragrance industry five years ago with her Truth product line of candles, room sprays, diffusers, and perfumes, and the beverage industry two years ago with all-natural, shelf-stable products reviewed by Cornell and now available in a Westchester supermarket. She holds a bachelor's degree in legal studies, a master's degree in public administration, an associate degree in paralegal studies, and an associate degree in office administration. Additional credentials include certification as a self-care coach, certification in mental health first aid, leadership certifications from Deloitte, and status as a notary public. Hatwood created the Women's Worth Awards to honor women overcoming adversity while supporting others, wrote and produced the off-Broadway play The Wounded Soul, and authored the book The Restored Soul. She serves on the board of Ubuntu and supports My Sister's Place and Nourish Nooks initiatives addressing domestic violence and food insecurity in Westchester County, New York.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do not start your own business if you do not like people. You have to have your social skills aligned. Pursue everything earnestly and consistently. Be disciplined because motivation is momentary and discipline changes behavior.
