Sheylyn Jaymes

Sheylyn Jaymes dedicated 30 years to education, beginning with a degree in physical education. She taught physical education for seven years before transitioning to elementary education, where she instructed several grades for two years and then spent the balance of her career teaching sixth grade. Throughout this time, she maintained a concurrent career in music spanning 35 to 40 years. Jaymes has sung since childhood and recorded an album in Nashville. Her performances have taken her across the United States and throughout Arizona, with notable appearances at the Nashville Palace, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and B.B. King's. She has opened for artists such as Charlie Daniels, Collin Raye, Guy Penrod, Point of Grace, and Andy Griggs. Ten years ago, she began playing drums and continues to take lessons to refine her skills. Jaymes is retired from teaching and no longer participates in professional education associations. Outside her careers, she supports several nonprofits focused on animals, including the Arizona Humane Society and the Asher House, and maintains a long-standing connection with Valley Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
