Ten minutes with Shir

01What do you attribute your success to?

Perseverance, loyalty, and hard work. I believe success comes from staying committed to your goals, learning from every challenge, and consistently putting in the effort.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Listen first, then speak. Understanding people and situations before reacting is one of the most valuable skills a leader can develop.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The best advice I can give to anyone starting out is this: surround yourself with great advisors and mentors—people you trust, who challenge you, and who genuinely want to see you succeed.

Some of them will know they are mentoring you, and some won’t. Yet each of them will shape the way you think, make decisions, and grow throughout your career. Choose them wisely, listen carefully, and never stop learning from them.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The aerospace industry is at a pivotal moment. The biggest challenge is balancing rapid innovation with the industry’s uncompromising standards for safety, certification, compliance, and reliability. At the same time, companies must navigate increasingly complex global regulations, geopolitical uncertainty, supply-chain disruptions, and a growing need for resilient, secure operations.

The opportunity, however, is just as significant. Continued investment in defense, commercial aviation, space, autonomous systems, and advanced manufacturing is driving long-term growth. Organizations that can combine innovation with strong governance, regulatory excellence, and strategic partnerships will be best positioned to lead the next generation of aerospace.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most, both professionally and personally, are integrity, loyalty, responsibility, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Integrity is the foundation of everything I do — being honest, transparent, and making the right decisions even when they are not the easiest ones. Loyalty, to my team, my organization, and the values I believe in, is equally important to me.

I deeply value service and responsibility, shaped by my background and my belief that leadership is not only about achieving results, but also about caring for people and building trust. I am also driven by a strong connection to my country and a desire to contribute through my work, wherever I am.

Curiosity, continuous learning, and the ability to build bridges between different perspectives are values that have guided my career. I believe the strongest leaders combine expertise with humility, courage, and the ability to bring people together toward a shared vision.
