About Shirley
I am a healthcare educator, innovator, and community advocate dedicated to advancing public health education and expanding access to knowledge. As Faculty with UCSF’s Department of Continuing Education in Medicine, I support lifelong learning for healthcare professionals and contribute to improving patient care through education.
As an ASHA Innovator at the California Department of State Hospitals–Atascadero, I work on initiatives that improve healthcare systems and outcomes. My efforts have been recognized by California State University, Fullerton as Alumni of the Year.
Beyond my professional work, I am passionate about civic engagement and community development. I am a member of the SLO League of Women Voters and serve on the Board of Directors for the Templeton Community Library Association, advocating for educational access and stronger community resources.
My mission is to use education, healthcare innovation, and community leadership to create lasting, positive change
