Ten minutes with Shirley
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to hard work and attention to detail. However, I believe success goes beyond simply working hard. I have learned to lead beyond my title by taking decisive action, leading by example, and focusing on creating meaningful impact rather than relying on authority or position.
I also believe in giving others the space to own their areas of responsibility while establishing clear expectations and measurable success criteria. Building trust, demonstrating accountability, and consistently delivering results have helped me develop strong cross-functional relationships.
Another important part of my success has been my willingness to take on high-stakes challenges and drive meaningful change. I strive to inspire a shared vision across departments and bring teams together around common goals, particularly when working across functions such as engineering, legal, finance, and product.
