Her Interview
Ten minutes with Shivani
01What do you attribute your success to?
I am energetic and always ready to dive into a new challenge. I am a wife and stepmother to three strong, young women who are successful business leaders and amazing people. I love to travel with my family and create new memories, cook, nurture my circle, and continue to learn and grow as a strong role model for our girls.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Probably don't take on someone else's anxiety. So sometimes, if you're dealing with a client and it's a difficult situation and they're taking it out on you, but just know that there's probably something else going on, so just kind of sit with the moment, and don't take on someone else's anxiety, is what I would say.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say ensuring that you're on a team that guarantees you have a voice and will help empower you and become a rising leader. If you're in a room where you're being ignored, you know, it's probably not the right room to be in.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think there is a huge opportunity around AI and bringing in a woman's perspective.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Core values, I would say, integrity, building community, so being inclusive. And I would say, you know, letting others shine - stepping aside, so when you do have folks that you're mentoring, I learn a lot from the people I'm mentoring as well, but making sure that you're making room for others to rise up and shine. It's like on a panel I ran once for Women in Tech: when you make it to the top, don't forget to send the elevator back down.
