About Shonda
Shonda Durrance began her healthcare career after graduating high school early and discovering sonography through a conversation with her sister-in-law. She signed up immediately and spent the next 21 years working as a sonographer before transitioning into education five years ago to help current sonography students succeed by sharing her extensive knowledge. Durrance earned her sonography degree from Kaiser University in Daytona, followed by a bachelor's degree from Daytona State and an MBA in healthcare administration from Southeastern University. She is especially proud of completing her master's degree and also holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Durrance maintains active professional involvement as a member of SCMS, a peer reviewer for articles in the JDMS, and a member of ACHE in Central Florida. Based in Palm Coast, Florida, she incorporates service learning into her program by having students participate in community volunteering such as cereal drives, biannual service days, and an annual all-campus service project.
