Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shreya

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the guidance of my mentors, my belief in myself, and my faith. My mentors have helped me grow and navigate challenges, while my faith keeps me grounded, resilient, and confident to keep moving forward. I believe every experience, whether a success or setback, provides an opportunity to learn and grow.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is, “If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.” I learned the importance of advocating for myself, whether it is seeking new opportunities, taking on more responsibility, or pursuing leadership roles. Instead of waiting to be recognized, I believe in showing initiative, expressing my goals, and being willing to ask for opportunities to grow.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to stay curious and always be willing to learn. Be open to exploring new opportunities, asking questions, and stepping outside of your comfort zone. My own career journey evolved because I was willing to learn, pivot, and combine my clinical expertise with new skills in informatics and technology. I believe the best solutions come from asking the right questions and understanding how technology can truly support the people who use it.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field right now is artificial intelligence. While AI can feel intimidating, it also presents tremendous opportunities for those who are willing to learn, adapt, and be part of its evolution. Rather than fearing that technology will replace roles, I believe we should engage with it, help shape its development, and use it to improve workflows, outcomes, and patient care. By embracing innovation and bringing clinical expertise into the conversation, we can ensure technology supports the people and patients who need it most.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are integrity, leadership, and honesty. I believe leadership is more than just a skill—it is a mindset and a commitment to continuously guide, support, and inspire others. I also believe in being honest and addressing challenges directly, because transparency builds trust and allows us to grow both personally and professionally.
