Her Story
About Shriya
I've always been a big sports person, picking that up from my dad who always had football on at the house. When I started college, I realized through a speaker that sports analytics is a big field, and through connections I got into the football position which I have loved ever since. I'm double majoring in Business Analytics and Information Systems with a minor in sports administration, and I plan to go into sports analytics after graduating in May 2027.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be intimidated because your knowledge is something nobody can take away from you. Be confident in how you carry yourself because self-confidence makes a big difference. Keep working at it and definitely know your stuff since sports is a difficult industry to break into.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Football and sports in general is a very male-dominated field. Sometimes people stereotype and think you are less capable or less knowledgeable just because you are a woman, so I've had to work harder to prove myself and get rid of that baseline stigma.
