About Shruthi
I'm currently an undergraduate student studying neuroscience, and I'm passionate about doing something interdisciplinary and different from the common neuroscience major path. I wanted to bridge a very unique field between neuroscience and law, which motivated me to grow into my field. I started a program within my school called the Neuroethics Exchange for Undergraduate Scholars, which inspires other students to pursue careers between neuroscience and law, as well as neuroscience and technology, while looking at the ethical implications. Through this program, I talk about case studies that involve neuroscience evidence and disseminate the importance of neuroscience in case law, discussing why that's important for making better judgments in assessing the criminality of certain defendants and why science is important in the context of law. I have a minor in science, technology, and law, which combines the components I want to pursue in the future. I'm currently in neuroscience research focusing on the computational aspects of neuroscience, and I'm still exploring whether I want to pursue this intersection through research, regulation, or law. I'm also a peer educator at my school, where I educate other students about the importance of maintaining mental health and having practices for caring for mental health.
