Her Story

About Shruthi

Shruthi Krithika Jyothi Sunder is a Member of Technical Staff at Oracle, based in the Greater Chicago Area, with a decade-long background in software engineering and AI infrastructure. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Her early career began in full-stack development, including roles at Zoho Corporation, where she worked on scalable enterprise products and user-facing platforms, building a strong foundation in product engineering, APIs, and system design.

In her current role at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, she focuses on building and automating large-scale AI infrastructure systems, particularly around GPU networking and data center bring-up. Her work spans zero-touch provisioning, firmware lifecycle automation, and observability systems for high-performance compute environments. She has contributed to onboarding NVIDIA GB200 NVSwitch and Spectrum-4 infrastructure in collaboration with NVIDIA, helping enable rack-scale deployments for advanced AI workloads used in environments such as OpenAI. Her work emphasizes reliability, idempotent workflows, and reducing manual deployment complexity through software-driven infrastructure.

Across her career, she has focused on bridging software engineering with large-scale distributed systems and AI infrastructure operations. She is known for an engineering approach that combines automation, observability, and system reliability, particularly in high-urgency production environments. Her professional philosophy centers on continuous learning, end-to-end ownership, and translating complex hardware and networking workflows into repeatable, production-grade systems that support modern AI workloads at scale.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Shruthi

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mom, to my husband, to all this wonderful support system that I have, who always keep pushing me. They don't let me slack, they always make sure I give my best and keep working hard.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from someone who told me that getting promoted in your career is like a popularity contest. You might be doing amazing work, but if you don't self-promote yourself, or if you don't make sure it's reaching the right eyes and you're not getting the right visibility, then it wouldn't get the right traction or recognition. If you don't self-promote, then you won't get that visibility, and you won't get the right recognition that it deserves. So, always put your work out there and self-promote.
