Her Story
About Shubhangi
I was always interested in law, but I wasn't sure which niche to go into, and that's why I did all the internships that exposed me to different areas of law. I decided that I really wanted to go into alternate dispute resolution, so I went to USC to do my master's, my LLM in ADR. I started off at FINRA initially as a case administrator, and then I moved to JAMS this year in January. My main area of expertise is alternate dispute resolution, and within that, it would be arbitration and mediation. On a daily basis, I oversee a large number of cases, around 200 to 230 cases. I deal with parties and retired judges, like neutrals, who have questions about the case, and I guide them with any administrative procedures and the rules and regulations that a particular organization has, and help anyone reach the organizations in order to resolve their issues.

The best career advice that I've received is every day is a learning opportunity with the different cases that we deal with. No matter how long you've been in the profession for, even it could be 5, 10 years, but every day we learn something new.
