Her Interview
Ten minutes with Shyanne
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from my support system, especially my family. They have been there for me through everything.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I don't ask anybody to do something that I haven't already done, or that I wouldn't do myself. Leading by example is key.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Lead with your heart and trust your intuition. If something doesn't seem right, it's not right.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There is a lot of growth opportunity because more people are choosing dogs instead of kids and treating them like family. A big challenge is the lack of regulation in the pet industry, like dog food and medications not being FDA regulated.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Community is number one - loving the neighborhood feel and supporting neighbors. Safety and happiness go hand-in-hand with that. Integrity is also key - doing the right thing even when nobody's looking.
